The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says it is arresting five men in connection with last month's devastating Malibu wildfire that destroyed more than 50 homes.
Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says deputies are arresting the men in a roundup taking place Thursday afternoon. He says those arrested will be identified at a news conference. Their ages range from 18 to 27.
Whitmore says all are from the Los Angeles area and face arson-related felony charges..
Whitmore says arson investigators found several pieces of evidence that indicated revelers had triggered the blaze by setting a campfire at a popular party spot by a cave in Corral Canyon, which abuts Malibu Creek State Park.
The broke out Nov. 24 and took several days to contain
