That's the bar in the Desert not the desert bar at the Casino.:D
I should know this but I don't. Does anyone have general directions to pick up the trail and any other details of the ride out?
We plan on doing it the Saturday after X-mas. We also plan to do the Havi to Wikieup run as well on Friday. That's about 110 miles off road.
Thanks.

Go to google earth or another map program and get a bird eye view of the strip....zoom in on the gas station across castle rock....ie: River Island Market...
You will see the trail that starts out behind the RV yard.....from there zoom in and out and head south east and you will continue to see the trail lead right to the desert bar...
I would not go alone unless you have a map or print out from google earth or something....lots of trails back there that can get you lost....once you have been on it a couple times it is no bigge..
Go to amazon or to a bookstore and get the following book..
Guide to AZ Backroads....got a good map of it and other trails around Parker... (http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Arizona-Backroads-4-Wheel-Trails/dp/0966497635/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197672729&sr=8-2)

Cool link MB, just got the wife a stocking stuffer.:D
Charley, from his post it looks like he is looking for the back way into the Desert Bar. Which is a more agresive route then going in the front way. It makes for a fun run in if you have the right equipment.

Perfect, thanks!
Never thought of Google earth. Surprisingly enough the trail is well marked on Goggle. I guess I'll try to transfer that data into the GPS. I'm not worried about my vehicle making it, but what about our friends stock FJ 4x4?
I already came up with this:

We are going the 1st Saturday after xmas. So that's the 29th. Anyone is welcome to come along. Right now we have 2 vehicles and maybe a RZR.
We are still considering the Havi to Wikieup run that week as well. That is a longer easier trip but very scenic all the same.

We have made it their in a lowered dually. Piece of cake. Easy road. Not so good during the Parker Race when we run into Robby tho...:D

I made it back there in a 1984 Blazer Automatic. A FJ won't have any problem whatsoever. (As long as it isn't raining hard or rained hard recently)
