The picture attached is of the steering cable and helm that I'm replacing. Take a look at the red jacket and you can see why... Thing is that I've looked all over the various sites and can only find Teleflex which I guess is Morse. No images of the cable end in any of the catalogs show a section like mine, with the transom bracket ball and the support tube.
Are these things removable for installation on the new gear? I see that the support tube is avalable at Rex, but I'm damned if I can figure out if the threaded ends are the same in the promo pics.
Oh.. and naturally the serial numbers and length are worn off the jacket.

It may be cheaper and easier to switch your whole steering system then to try and find a replacement cable. Take a look at the Teleflex Rack, around $160..

Everything you need to know about cables cables go to Teleflex Marine (http://www.teleflexmarine.com/cgi-bin/library.cgi?site=home&type=us&library=1028)

Thanks 502, yeah, that's the plan, but I need to make sure that the end of the steering cable will match up to the Nicson tiller arm. And I'm going to need a rotary as the're's not a lot of room to the left of the helm behind the dash.

They sell the rotary's as kits too, how did the old cable attach to the nicson tiller? Just a bolt, should be fairly simple. Little more info? Pics? Teleflex bought morse a while back and its just them and Uflex now since hardin stopped makin steering cables.
