There was a photo in the old Boulder City airport of a guy in a Piper Cub type of plane doing this thru the narrows at Lake Mead!

I had an examiner tell me about doing this on one of my check rides.
They lock the brakes and essentially hydroplane on the water.
I'll leave that to the other guys thank you very much.

It's real. The trick is to lock the brakes as sleek said. Bob Heirendeen used to do it in a Pitts back in the 60's and tumbled one once. Broke his back, totaled his plane, but he figured it out. There is an Italian group that does this in all their shows. Purely stupid if you ask me. That's not a ,"if" that is a "when" you crash deal there.
