Pulled the motor to find out whats up. Got tired of guessing. I put a magnet down the dipstick tube and it came out with metal on it :( Didn't I just do this?

Well sh!t, I should have done this from the get go, I'm only at #1 & #2 rods and this is the KNOCK #1 spun completly and #2 was through the babbit to the copper
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/57DCP_2278-med.JPG
Ok crank kit and resize the rods and slap it back together?
Or aftermarket shortblock with my cam and heads?
Or new pistons(with more comp), new rods, and new crankshaft?
My choice is to is to BURN THE FOCKING THING yuk
Hbjet you still got your crank and rods? Anyone want to get rid of some stuff to fix this or a shortblock/long block?
Going to pull the trigger pretty quick the countdown to is OP6C T minus 15 days and counting. http://www.havasudoug.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/drink.gif

RiverDave:
Ya think your gonna make it??
Any other board members local to you??
Perhaps a pre-op6 put the boat back together beer session is in order??
RD Not really most are up in the PHX area. I'll do this with a little help from my son and the wifey. I'm there with or without the bitch (the boat not the wifey wink ) Got some good folks that have offered rides if need be.
As far as the beer session goes thats a done deal

Did you prime/pressurize the oil system before the first time you started it? Did you then crank it over a few time without the spark plugs in it to get the oil pressurized AGAIN before the first time you started it?

Yep primed it twice(once with a drill, once cranking) had 80psi on the gauge, hell I had 80psi(cold) when I took it apart to find this mess. And I used moly assm lube on everything. Just put it together sloppy I'm guessing.

Hey bud,
Sorry about the trouble. I can get you a std steel 454 crank if you want it. $350, let me know, I could probably meet you in Picacho.

Damn, that really sucks. its too bad we dont live closer, i have a 454 i pulled from my 91 GMC duelly and replaced it with a 502 crate. its not much of a boat motor but it would get you on the water for the weekend. has anyone ever used a truck gen V 454 for marine use? just curious.

Well I'm still diggin around, here in town I found a 454 40over with a good crank and rods and all the parts to put it together for $600. I'd use my heads and valve train. Anything else out there folks, clocks tickin....

OK I pulled the trigger on the 40over 454 that a guy has at a machine shop I use. I pick it up tommorrow. Get it together by Friday, in the boat Saturday, start it Sunday. Day trip to a lake close by for breakin. OP6C-V next Friday morning jawdrop

I'm there with or without a boat, funny I was looking thru the Boat Trader for a inexpensive boat that ran just to buy and use the rest of the Summer, while I get these other 2 projects finished :D
