here goes its been a while and i am glad that they brought this forum back online. i was starting to wander!? anyhow i built a bbc for my 78 nordic bubble deck last year and i was so so with the out come. it ran 62 @ 6200 ft. above sea level. ok for my questions i put closed chamber heads off a 396and i am running flat top piston how much will i gain if i pull the heads and do a good port and polish on them.
the engine is bored 30 over with stock rods and crank, old a$$ edelbrock torker (the one were the carb mounts slightly cocked) ot rewarder headers 2 1/4in primary tubes to 4in collecter and an 850 holley dp carb. roller rockers
and a crane cam part #11-209-3. valve lift is I .507 E .531.
any help would be greatly appreaciated!
THANKS:idea:

there's quite a bit of power to be had in the heads. I really don't know what you'd gain with you're particular set-up so I'd suggest giving Timm (Timinator) a call at 623-877-8553. He's the owner of TUF-ENUF MARINE PERFORMANCE and has been doing engines for 35 yrs or more.

We have run some of the new Weiand Warrior Manifolds on the dyno and they kicked the Elb's butt. They are good for an engine just like yours.
I'm not knocking Elb, they are good. Just got better numbers with the new Warrior.

Oilfield,
I also have a Nordic Bubble deck. It is a 77 though. I built a 454 .030/roller yada yada with Brodix alum BB-2 CNC'd ports. You might want to look into a set of aftermarket good performing heads and new intake. I had rect ports HP factory heads. Took them off and sold them before the boat even got wet. By the time I had the factory ones re-done I was almost half way into the cost of the brodix set. Lets see your build up.
