This is what was on my boat when I got it (and presumably since '87)

I replaced the little roller down there with a conventional V-type bow stop

and I use a turnbuckle to pull downward on the bow eye to keep the boat down on the stop. Until I did that, the boat bounced so bad that I thought these crap PA roads would ruin it.
Definitely run some type of safety strap from the trailer to the bow eye when you're pulling the boat out of the water. There's a post somewhere on here about how it can all go bad without one.
Also, much like Nubbs, I hate floater bars.

The bar on my Compition trailer for my 21 Daytona is just like post #2
Works fine but I also used a tie down pulling straight down on the bar...stops the bow from bouncing ;)
