weight transfer

i have a 20.5 advantage classic. i was wondering about transfering battery to the midship compartments and changing to aluminum exhaust manifolds. reason is to get exhaust tips alittle out of the water, at idle water splashes back into boat. will this affect the handling of the boat and speed. :confused:

I probably won't make much of a difference on performance. How far into the water are your tips? How heavy is your battery? If you have a typical group 27 or 31, then I don't expect your tips to move more than a half inch. Lightening up the exhaust will obviously improve that number.
