Up for sale is my 1977 Sanger Ski Hydro
This is a beautiful boat but I've accumulated too many toys and need to let it go.
Following are the details:
18' Pickle Fork Hydro
Front facing bench seat (seats 2)
Two rear facing bucket seats
Tow bar behind engine (in case you have a crazy friend who wants to inner tube at 90mph!)
Engine:
Freshended up Ford 429 Cobra Jet (have receipt from speed shop)
Flat top forged pistons (around 11:1 compression ratio)
Solid lifter Comp Cam (good sized. Have specs somewhere)
Aluminum Cobra Jet Heads
Aluminum Roller Rockers
Weiand Dual Quad Tunnel Ram (ported and port matched)
Two Holley 600CFM Vaccuum Seconday carbs
Holley Electric Fuel Pump
Mallory Unilite Electronic Distributor
MSD 6AL Electronic Ignition with adjustable rev limiter
8.5mm Plug Wires
Large Chrome oil pan
All hoses are braided steel
Bassett Twisty Chrome water injected headers with removable baffles
Drive:
Casale In/Out v-drive running 1.18 gears (18%)
Menkins 3 blade cleaver prop
Gauges:
Electric Tach, Speedo, Water Temperature, Oil Temperature, Oil Pressure
Trailer:
Competitive trailers dual axle, recently redone.
2" Ball
Flat 4wire plug
This boat is a blast although not for the faint of heart. It is very fast and a bit scary! We've had it up to 80mph (on GPS) and there was definitley more in it! We hit that speed just over 5000rpm and this motor should sing to 6500rpm We didn't have the safety gear or urge to push it much faster that day. This boat is in great shape as you can see in the photos. It does however show it's age here and there and could use a little tlc. There is some oxidation on the front of the boat.
Following are some photos of the boat. The intake scoop shown in the first photos is not currently installed as it will not fit on the new tunnel ram setup. Click HERE (http://gizmo0.home.comcast.net/~gizmo0/sanger.avi)to see a short video I took with my cell phone.
Priced to sell now at $6995 I would prefer a cash sale, but might consider a part trade + cash. I have a clear title in hand for the boat and trailer. Thanks for your interest.
