I'm new to the jet boat world and have a 1988 Tahiti with a mildly built 454. I would like the wiring schematic for this hull. The question is about the 1 wire alternator wiring. It has a #12 wire comming off the alternator into a terminal strip on the back of the motor and the wire from the terminal strip is a #16 at best. I think it is for the volt meter, I have not traced it out. I would think that the #12 wire should go right to the positive side of the battery to keep it charged. Thanks in advance for all the help.

My setup is also 1 wire alt.. In my setup the wire goes to the starter hot lead (which also has bat. wire). I would use a little larger gauge wire.

Yeah what he said. I'm using #8 on mine and it's running right to the starter positive.
