I need to know the fireing order on a 460 ford also the cylinder #'s say if you were standing at the flywheel.Also where #1 is on the distributer. Thanks

Turn the motor till number one cylinder is at tdc of the compression stroke, wherever the rotor is pointing, make that your number one plug wire.

Duh I guess it doesn't matter which one you start at.Fired up Don's boat today and it was kind of missing but could be a carb issue also.

Be careful of 7 and 8, I crossed the plug wires once and it ran good enough to make me think I had engine problems. It wasn't firing right and with solid motor mounts it made it sound like a rod knock or a pump knocking. I was ready to start tearing things apart when my pops found it.
And to answer your question, yes, I felt like a dumb ass (as I should).
