I know there was an uproar 8 months ago when several people were removed without warning and the site was shutdown. I'm asking that people please try to get over the mistake and stop the BS.
I have no idea as to the situation surrounding the problem , I also feel it's not my problem. I am just a person trying to keep a public forum free of spambots, porn, personal threats...etc......
If you're unhappy with the management, write them an e-mail. If you've found a great new site in PB or RDP then please enjoy what they offer and don't ruin this site for others that are viewing.
Thanks:)

When I subscribed to HB it was because of the forum. I had been a long time part of the HB forums under a different name (don't confuse this name with a couple other members with similar a screen name as I've changed it many times over the years) and enjoyed the forums. Three years ago I decided to subscribe. Once I received the magazine I enjoyed it as well. I liked the back portion dealing more with the jet, hydros, & flat bottoms. The coverages of the drag & circle boats interested me as well. Now I could buy a DCB, newer Eliminator, and the like, but I prefer the old school river boats. I'm a hot rodder at heart. When the management decided to go another way late last year I was worried about the content of HB. The actions of the current management toward others on the staff made me reflect on the personalities running the magazine. Had the management come out and acknowledge their mistakes apologize the the forum member I think things would have gone a different direction. Instead they decided to bash their competitor and those that were banned in an editorial column. I in good conscience cannot do business with those that want conduct themselves in this manner so I decided not to renew with Hot Boat. I believe (as a businessman myself) that through proper management it is the customer that is the base of any business. There are a lot of people that were the base of this forum and magazine that feel as though the managers disrespected them. As one of many contributors to this forum I feel that many of the people that were here helped build this forum. That was a slap in the face to the subscribers as well as forum members.
There are many that feel as I do and some that disagree. That being said, this will be my last post with the HB forums. I'm sure that the mods and Grads will be happy about this.
Thanks, I feel better getting that off my chest.

Fair enough. Thanks for the input. Again, I'm trying to clean this place out and would only ask that any issues with the HB management team be directed to them via e-mail. They will listen and responed. I only work the website so I may not have the answers you're looking for.
I do know the magazine has brought the jet\v-drive 16-21' section back into play. There's a special issue coming directly related to those type of boats.
Have a great day:)

Yes, I can assure you ( and any others ) that it is coming back on-line. The issue at hand is when the site went down everything was archived. The problem is when the forums came back we changed software and the original gallery is not compatible.
With that said, It's taking a little longer than originally thought and we are focused on improving the front pages right now. If you can hang in there I promise you'll get your pictures back.

Jets\v-drives\small outboards I believe it's being called a classic 's issue. I've seen some of the layout and it looks really nice. I had no idea how much time some of these people spend restoring 60's-80's boats.

since "Wolf" seems to have joined ***boat recently and also seems to have a serious hard-on for Grads... I'm thinking he's just yet another alias for acatitude. we'll see. he promised his post earlier was his last one. Acatitude has made that promise about a thousand times and keeps coming back. Here's betting that "Wolf" will be back too. Either with yet another username (new personality again) or as an old one.
So Mod-10, I'd really discredit anything "Wolf" has to say. His input on this site has been useless since he joined last month.

I signed up for this form a while back and posted a time or two. Seen a lot of people come and go, some may have needed to move on. Over the years I have had many laughs at the people going back and forth, most of the time over nothing. Most of these same people are no longer on HB because of these same laughs or were part of a BAN. This affected others who decided HB was not for them if their friend(s) felt or treated this way.
Every few days I check the site for any familiar names, but that is few and far between.
Just wait and see what other changes happens

Gotta say, at the risk of banning, this forum has turned into grads blowing his horn as always and you swingin' from his nuts.
He is a big reason so many stay away. The "King" has his own site now basically.

No reason to BAN anyone.
There is a dedicated 3 person team monitering the site daily. We don't know any of you users so the only thing we see is "friends?" planning parties and such. This is not Grad's site and I'll recommend to you the BLOCK feature in your USER CP.

Please tell me how this is any different from Powerboat-Open Water Section and the AZ group. It's the same six people making plans and talking trash every day.
And I'm Sorry you don't have any friends to make your own section with. Try not being so judgmental and making conclusion based on what you read on the internet. Everyone I've met on here has been nice and a lot of fun.

Are you refering to Grads telling Angie to go sell her POS boat. Then you locked it so nobody could even say that's it's actually a very nice boat. It might be over priced considering current market conditions, but that would be of opionion of those that have seen the boat. It should not be some jackass opionion of some jurk that's never seen it bashing it just because he can. And your letting him.

This place is indeed a shadow of its former self. There used to be hundreds of us on here every day. I have made many good friends from these flickering screens. I am sure that given time it will become more populated and have more action.
I don't think it will ever be the same as it was for the past few years though. We were at a time of easy money, equity was booming and we all felt rich. The future portends to be different. High fuel prices, and drooping stock and home prices will make us less likely to spend a thousand bucks for a weekend at the lake....boat prices are still climbing while sales are plummeting.
Things just feel different. They are different with this site, with the magazine, with the river, with the whole country.....They'll look back someday say the "turn of the century" was a good time......This place was exciting, i couldn't wait to see what was going on when I got home from the day of work. I jonesed to post, to read posts, to call my friends and laugh about what moron did what to who's wife....to find out who I'd run into during my next river trip. The forums were full of friends that you just hadn't met yet.
When this place was laid out for few months, I looked and posted some on the other sites, but it wasn't the same for me. Some day this place will be busy again, but I would be surprised if will ever be like it was.
I'll still hang out sometimes and post, I renewed my subscription. The mag is still a decent read, but there is room for improvement for sure.

When this site got shut down for a while it segregated the cliques to the various "new" places. To me the segregation is quite evident. Yes, many cross over to the other sites but go back to where, I think, they feel most accepted.
