Bob Brown and I were talking at the performance evaluations about boating outside Lake Havasu.
The question is:
If you could boat outside your normal lake 1 time during the season:
Where would you go:
Why:
Would you be interested in seeing more lifestyle type pictures and articles about this lake\ocean in the magazine?
If you're not thinking about traveling try this question:
What lake have you heard about and would like to see what it's really like via pictures and articles by those who actually boat there?

Lake Mead. The canyon walls look soo cool in pictures people have posted.
Lake Cumberland? is that a lake or just a marina?
Travis Lake in Austin TX. I heard it has an island with condos on it in the middle.

Lake Powell for the scenery and LOTO for the party. :D

Try some of the TVA created lakes in Tennessee like Dale Hollow. Arrived there one night just before midnight -- turned into the marina and saw a sign, "Welcome to Dale Hollow -- population 6". Thought I heard some
"Deliverance" bango music playing off in the distance. Went there to meet Billy Westmoreland, the self-professed "world's greatest" small-mouth bass fisherman. Incredible lake for boating. Also go inland around Winter Haven in Florida -- the Cypress Gardens tourist attraction is long gone, but the chain of lakes and incredible scenery is worth the trip.

I'd say Powell for the shear beauty of the area. Next would be that Cour de Arlenn or how every they spell it.

Lake powell, Lake Tahoe, and Lake Shasta would be my picks.

The water clarity on Tahoe is insane. The underwater pics don't do it justice, it was like swimming in a giant swimming pool!

I agree with justfloatn. the celebrity golf tournament week is pretty cool. If you want to fly up to Reno, I'm sure some of us NorCal boaters can arrange to cruise you around the lake for the week. :)

And just think; I'll still be on the wagon for next years event. So I'll be able to hook up any DVD players that need hooking up.:D :D

Tahoe is tempting for sure...
I've been to Jacksonville's intercoastal many times, but would love to boat on the St. Johns river for a week.

Boating in lake havasu looks like it would be a blast or powell . I went to powell once and it looked great , just drove around it . Towing the boat that distance would be somthing , just can't imagine it . I had a friend who did it several years back and said knowing what he knows now , that he should have traveled there and rented a boat for the week. In his opinion it would have been alot better .

I took a great pic of your boat in the channel last year. I would post it but have a clue how to, and if I did I might get banned. I'm gonna go visit with it in a couple of hours.

I have family that lives close to daytona and new smyrna beach florida , and it would be a great place to boat . I have been the many times and rented a boat once. The other place I would go to is the intercoastal in Miami , alot of performance boaters there.
