Every time I see one of those, I think of the other tag line, I think from DuPont, "Better living through plastics". I never understood the pump cover. Although not a big fan of Panther, I never thought that their casting was all that bad...

I'll tell you, when I got into buying my boat I didnt know what a panther was at all. I knew a guy when I was growing up that had a panther on his boat growing up and it always worked well. So I decided to go ahead and get one. Well I have had no problems with mine at all. It may not be the most popular brand but it works and it lets me get out and enjoy hangin out with some of you guys so Im not going to complain. My next boat will have a Berkley or simular only because parts are easier to come by.

Panther jet parts are easy to get and they are good jet pumps. The plastic cover is supposed to be a step to help you get up into the boat. Jim

That's interesting. I never realized that they were supported so you could step. Good idea. Like I said, I don't hate the Panther, just understand the Berk/Dominator better.
