I like to "think" I know the route up river when the water is low. Well, I'm glad my wife said not today hunny. We stopped just in time. So this series of pictures will be self explanitory. We floated about 1/4 mile from the mouth and to say we were amazed would be an understatment.
When you approach a boat that clearly appears stuck as in beached, wouldn't you turn around?????
ENJOY.........................

You don't know me, so how could you say that

1) I wasn't making fun of anybody, simply noting a fact.
2) I called Seatow to come out and help those people. 2 of which were very thankful.
3) I will go out of my way to help a boater if the condition permits.
4) People are people and YOU'LL NEVER PLEASE EVERYONE.
Thanks for your assesment of my pictures.
Have a super day:D

I never used the word Dumbass, but I quickly remembered the moment a boat touches water many times the common sense stays in the tow vehicle.
I just didn't understand how someone could see a stuck boat and continue to drive less than 50' away and get themselves stuck also. Thankfully NOONE was injured that we know of. The ski boat pictured bent the shaft, the others were able to push out or get towed out and drive away.

I went up to Topock on Sunday morning and it was very tricky heading up stream. Sea Tow was camped out about ½ mile from the mouth. Coming back it was much easier to see the line. Be very very careful….. :D

If you can't see the water is low when you launch then maybe you should stay on the trailer..:D

I do know Sunday the Marina gate was warning people. I agree a bright flashing sign would be nice, but it will come back to that COMMON SENSE thing.

Let me quote myself! Even living here and boating as often as we do I still get spooked going up river. Fortunately I have "common sense" sitting next to me in the boat, car, truck, rhino etc...... I love my wife:D

I was down in Havasu & Parker this weekend too. I didn't even attempt the sandbar this weekend. I did run down to Parker & I had trouble finding a ramp that made it to the water. Drug my skeg down the ramp a bit (no damage) & moved to another ramp. I also stopped by Mead on the way home and I can't believe how low it is. Vegas ramp ends at my trailer wheels. Good news is that Powell has been on the rise.
As far as makin fun of others misfortune, it's been a favorite past time for me when it comes to the rentals. Even us experienced boaters have a story about mangling a prop or two. Unfortunately these days you only need a waverunner to F something up.
I'm gonna install a brushgard on the Nordic to take care of those pricks!

If you can make it past the mouth can you make it up to Bullhead with the current levels? (outboard with a jackplate)

I imagine you could if you know the river. Let us know how it works out if you do it.
