....and, you might check on insurance to see which motor THEY prefer.

Midcabin, open bow, 496HO/500/525, with a trailer, prefer the graphics on a white hull/deck. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't consider a good deal on something else.

The best deal on a Shadow is at Yachtauctions.com. They have one that was repo'd and is in dana point. There asking 65k on it, I want to say the previous owner was trying to sell it earlier this year for high 80's. The only thing I noticed it was it doesn't have a lot of the upgraded features from Ultra. I'm not sure if that 65k is the minimum i'm sure you can always start the bidding on it somewhat lower. Good luck

I'll tell you what, the 27 Shadow is a great boat. No propoise at any speed. It rides like a dream, especially right around 100 and above. The boat is rock solid, never feels unsafe. Handles wind and lake chop (there were 30mph gusts this weekend in Havasu) like nothing. I'm very impressed with it. You won't be dissapointed.
Give Andy from SeaDream a call. 310-480-4285. He can also help with insurance and financing. He might know of some others that may not even be listed for sale any where yet. ;)

Mike's and John's Shadow's are great looking boats, but a little to much HP for me. For where we boat they both just have to much motor. I need to stay with a stock HO/500/525, if at all possible. Thanks for the info on these boats.

Where do you boat at? You will be surprised at how mellow the 800 package is. Let me know if you are interested.

We have a lake place in Minnesota. The lake is about 10,000 acres, but we do some boating on the Mississippi River. You have a great looking boat and it is one of the nicest I've seen, but the motor is more than what I'm looking for and the price is out of my range.

Scott at Trident Boats has one with a 496 he was telling me about.

So you are looking to do about 65 m.p.h. on the top end?

Open bow 525 will run mid 70's all day with a full load. 65 mph sounds more like 496 numbers. Boat really likes to run 60 mph and up, I would definitely recommend more than the 496. Our 525 has been perfect for a family cruiser, good power and it doesn't drink a ton of gas.

I'm not an Ultra cheerleader by any means, but lets put it perspective. To compare my cabin and space in my 27 Shadow to a Daytona, you would have to compare it to a 28 tall deck. Whats a single engine 28 run with a 496? Could it even get on plane? I've had a 26 DCB, and it's closer in size to a 26 or 27 Daytona, this boat towers over a boat that size. I hated crawling on my stomache to get to my cooler or get towels out. That's the main reason I sold the DCB.

I thought with an HO that the Shadow would do 70. I could be wrong.
Sure aren't many for sale out there.
