I have a 18ft 1972 marlin with a Aero Marine 455 and a berk jc pump. This is my first post but have read this forum for years now and have not seen or heard of one yet. Good or bad I am interested to know more about my boat I will try to post pics later.

Marlin your boat was /is a very popular boat typical of the 70's. I couldn't immediatley find any info on Them but we have worked on several over the years and they to me ressemble the Tahitis and some Sleekcrafts of that era. Parts for same are very generic and readily avalable . post up call or email if we can help Tom

Not sure on the history of Marlin boats as I have tried to dig and have also found nothing, however I too own an 18' Marlin jet. If yours is the same as mine I believe the model was known as a Tigershark.
If you could post some pics that would help. With 500hp I've had mine up to 79mph. If it's the same one as mine, they do handle very well at high speeds and they turn & drift very well.
What kind of pump does your boat have? If it's a Berkeley I highly recommend getting the Berkeley pump tool kit from CP Performance. Makes teardown and reassembly a breeze.
Here are a couple of pics of mine. I did a full restore on mine...new floor, stringers, gel, etc etc. I highly recommend all the wood be replaced (floor, stringers, transom, etc etc) and she'll handle like new.
