I am looking for the pros and cons of overload springs vs air bags. How has what and would you do it again?

i have done both and air bags are the the way to go. you can level the truck with bags. and you can adjust side to side if need be.

I have airbags I agree with you totally and the other side is you can deflate them to 5lbs and have a smoother ride dont think you can take springs out so the ride is always the same. Id go with airbags not to hard to install either

I have custom Deaver springs and air bags, and I need both. Truck still sags when loaded.

i've had bags on the back of most of my fords. i've towed everything from a twenty foot boat, to a forty foot tag car hauler. weights ranged from 5000lbs, to 17000lbs. all have had between six inches and ten inches of lift. i was buying the kits from four wheel parts wholesalers, with the dual guage(shows pressure individually for each side of the truck as well as adjusts individually) bags, lines, and compressor, for between $450 and $500. its been about a year since i bought the last one, so the prices may have changed slightly. the hardest thing about installing is drilling the frame, plasma cutters work much better if you have a buddy that has one. hope that helps. oh, you can't beat the air bag set up.

With springs, You will find without a load the ride can be stiff :yuk:
