Here is another Apllo question Boat is an 18ft with 454, little over 500hp berkley 12jg with ride plate and diverter is suppose to run 70's would a droop snoot add anything, also has an a impeller. New to jets almost always run a prop, son found this one and though we could play a some. Will being to dyno room to make sure on hp but right now will have to take previous owners work. Any input would be welcome.

S, Before you start placing a droop on it you probably want to make sure the pump is tight. Reason being, you might want to put the $$ towards making it right before making any other mods that will not do what you want it to. W/ an A impeller it's going to take alot of HP to get it to turn a RPM higher than 5200.
What RPM are you turning now w/ the A?

S, From reading your 1st post again it sounds as if you'll have it on the dyno before the boat goes back on the lake. Do what you can there to get the best #s, then once it is on the lake you can see what RPM you'll turn. Try to stay w/ the A. When you cut the impeller you lose efficiency (cut to a B, you will turn a higher RPM but will still only be moving X amount of water through the pump). If the pump is tight and efficient then start adding the parts that you want.
The Droop adds lift by changing where the leverage is. The lower the thrust line changes to a lower position creating more leverage to lift the bow.

Dyno time is st for mid Jan. by that time paint should be dry and be ready to put back together, biggest problem is ice on the lakes, will have to sit for some time before it gets wet. Thanks for the insight
