Ok I know you can buy T-stat housings but I wanted to make one. It started out as the chunk on the left. I now just have to drill and tap it for the fittings I am going to use and radius the corners on the rotary table.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the wall is kinda thin (at least as far as tapping it for a NPT is concerned). You might consider leaving a boss on the inside where your ports will be for a little extra meat for tapping. Looks great... I love billet pieces.

Puke tanks look real nice. I think I am going to make a puke tank set up now too..hmmm if only I can find a BBC and refurb the boat this winter all the parts I make for the thing will be ready to bolt on....hehehe. Anybody have any dimensions or drawings of the puke tank. I can trade drawings of the t-stat housing.

TJS,
You find what you need to build a puke tank yet?

Tee,
Not yet. I have a lot of 6061 in my shop, but I think I need to go to the scrap yard. There is a great one in Stamford, CT. that has tons of alum.
Looking at the pic I think I can make a drawing and get some round stock for the ends and drill and tap them on the lathe. Does not look too hard.
I am working on my truck right now. I plow with this thing and last year it took a beating. So I pulled the motor to fix the cracks in the frame from plowing and decided to pull the pan SBC 350 and found a skirt of the piston broken. I just rebuilt this thing a year ago. Oh well good thing I pulled the pan off huh. Talk to you later.
Nice boat TEE.

Probably a couple pipe bungs for the oulets would work. Not in a hurry, boat has been down for a year and the season is almost over now anyway. But would like a custom one vs off the shelf. I will sketch something out over the next few days. See what I come up with.
What part of CT you live in. I go to Hebron and Chaplin a few times a year. Maybe we could hook up for a cold one

the puke tank was made from stainles steel, hand rolled and welded on the seam, put the seam on the bottom, 4 inch round and 11 inches long with 5/8 tubbing welded on sides and 1 1/2 inch on top to take the breathers, sanded and pollised by hand... we can make more, we just want to know how many people want them so we know what to charge for them,... and they do work very well,...no more oil residue on valve covers and oil does go in... p.s. it does have a 1/2 inch bung on the bottom to drain,or plumb into oil pan with a valve in line.... give me an e- mail if you want one, pollised or not...
