21'southwind 454 8-71questions

I am new to the jet drive thing and got a milion questions ok here goes we just finished a454with merlin heads and 8.5 compression I got a 8-71 bds blower my builder says about 900 hp, do I need blower calibrated carbs at 600$ a pop or will regular carbs work just fine? next I have a berkely 12jg A in a 21'southwind that this engines going into what kind of speeds can I expect? lastly why does this boat lok so much like a shiada or howard daycruiser?

If you don't use good & correct carbs you will never get that hourse power. I would talk to the biulder that gave you that hp rating & see what he would suggest
Make sure your pump is set up for that hp so you don't twist your shaft or split an impeller.
Also with that hp you should run the big U-joints.

thanks for the advice now how about top speed with this setup is this boat to big to get any respectable speed out of will I ever see high 90s or is that a ridiculous request.
