Working on a Shasta trip for the beginning of summer too.

Looks very cool. It's nice to know there are other hot boaters in northern California. Most of the time all I see are tournament type boats or Bayliners.
What's the deal on TP3?

Hey Todd, I think his name is Kelly? and he goes by Got Water? Cas would know.

Byron is right, Kelly goes by GotWater?? here on HB and on the Banderlog board but I haven't seen him around much in quite awhile.
I think the boat is a 21' Spectra that he picked up for a pretty darn good price. It's needed a bit of work but all in all it's a pretty solid boat.
Mojave,
My wife and I will be getting to TP on Wed night the 20th of Aug. If you can only get there for a day, we like to meet you. I need to warn you though, if you're only coming for a day, get there real early so you can get your boat in the water. The one downfall with Tower Park is the launching facilities, only 2 boats at a time and that's if it runs smooth. With 50+ boats coming with our group plus their regular business, it can get hectic.
Actually, we have 25 slips filled so a lot of us will already have our boats in the water.

Thanks Cas.
I live about 2 miles from a ramp on the Feather River, and I was toying with the idea of running down the Feather to the Sac down to the Delta.
I've never done it before, so I thought it might be fun to explore a little on the way there.
If we don't do it that way, I'll be sure to get there plenty early to launch.
Thanks for the heads up. wink

Hey Mohavekid, if you run that stretch of water, let me know, I've run most of it. If your near Yuba/Marysville, I don't recommend it in a glass boat unless your not afraid to jump off of shanghai bend. It's doable, I've seen a picture from the old jetcraft site with the former owner jumping off of it, but its pretty big. If you are below Shaghai, I think you could do it in a glass boat if you knew where to go and the water level was up pretty good.Do you ever run the Yuba?-Aluminum Squirt

Squirt, I've gone down the Feather to where it meets the Sacramento. I put in at Boyd's pump which is a mile or so down from the Shanghai rapids. It's a pretty good ride and if you read the river right, it's pretty easy. It seems to average 8-10 feet in most spots. There are a few places that are real shallow though. I found that out a few years ago with my 18 foot Challenger. I ran right up on a sand bar that was covered by 2-3 inches of water. Stopped me real quick, nothing damaged except a few scrapes to the bottom. Pain in the butt getting it off the sand though.
I've seen guys go over those rapids in a fiberglass boat with no problem, but I'm too chicken to try it, I'm afraid I'll tear mine up.
I've never gone too far up the Yuba. Shad Pad is as far as I've gone. Again, I'm afraid I'll tear something up going too much farther. There's some rapids just beyond there.

I've been thru Shanghai in my 18' fiberglass boat. Water was high though. I live about 3/4 from there as the crow flies.

Fill me in on the trip in August. My girlfriend and I are anxious to try a few different places this season. I have a 19 ft Hallet Bubble deck with white and candy red metal flake gel with a 460 and Berk JC with manual diverter. Live in Torrance, California. I have some friends that have been to the Delta and loved it.

AJ,
Are you guys going to set up in the open campground again? If so, I can reserve some of those spaces over there. If not, do you guys want a couple of the full hook up sites we have left?

AJ

Hey Steve, We had a great time at TP2 and we are looking forward to TP3. We would like to be back in the open area, could you to reserve at least 3 sites, the ones closest to the road next to the big palm tree. We are all tenters, maybe we will move up to a motorhome next year. also would like to find out about a boat slip, we are thinking of coming down Thursday, and just wanna leave our boat in the water, not sure about everyone else. "Just a suggestion" I was thinking you should put out colored ribbons to Whimpies and to Lost isles so that people can find there way, I think it would help the first timers. seems to me last year some people were lost. Maybe I should call you, lots of ??????? to ask. Thx :D :D :D
