I have a recent 460 rebuild and I am not happy with the oil pressure. Engine cold and above 1500 rpm my pressure is about 40 lbs. then drops to 25 lbs when warm. Right now the oil pump is stock. I would like to put something better in, any recomendations?

Depends on which oil pan you have, front sump or rear.
I have a rear sump pan on my 460 BBF and use Melling pump #M84DHV it is a hi volume pump with a bolt on pick up tube. it supplies the motor with 80psi cold and 60psi at hot idle.
If you have a front sump pan Melling pump #M84BHVS should work. I don't know if this model is for a press fit or bolt on pick up tube as the front sump oil pump comes both ways

i use a stock pressure pump and get around 40 at idle and 70 when full throttle or cruising. If the clearances in any of your bearings are loose the oil pressure will be lower. My last motor i had set up with little looser clearances but i had 60 at wide open and 25 at idle.
Another thing about hi volume hi pressure pumps is that you need to make sure that you run another oil pump driveshaft(a stronger one)the stock one is a 5/16 and has been known to twist!
