Some of these have been posted already under a thread, but I'm bored at work and figure I'll try again to get some response from you lake boat guys. These are from the race last month in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada. This race takes place over 5 days of racing and adds up to 500 miles total. It's an endurance race and is good just to finish the whole thing with your engine and boat in one piece. There were 43 boats starting. We ended up 8th in "A" class and 10th overall at the end of the week.
Here's a shot of us running at about 98 MPH.

The yellow boat of Rob Chrunyk wnet on to win the whole race. He was running a 780 HP 468ci and could hit 113 MPH.

Here's a start one of the days.

Here's another one of us after the new dent was installed under the bow after taking to air in some rapids. Easy fix.

Here's one Rob Pooley's boat. He's from New Zealand and is a long time racer. He broke several times but managed to finish the race.

Burb, We had a great time. The weather was good for the whole week and the motor didn't blow up. We had the smallest "A" motor there, but did all right. The best way for you get the skinny on the race would be to get the video or DVD. They are going to be available through Eagle sometime late September. A crew from Austraila came over and did a ****ing great job. They used 2 choppers and had crews on some good spots on the river and also had inboard cameras in some boats. The leg that we took to the air and banged up the boat, we had a camera in our boat. But 3 minutes to our starting time, they could not power it up, so we had to pack 20lbs of camera and got no shots from it. They showed some footage at the awards dealy and it was great stuff. Lots of real close up shots from the air. It is going to be done in documentary form and will be about 1 1/2 hrs long. It also has a 15 minute segment of the small boats on the Upper Red Deer River, doing some extreme boating; jumping dams & trees ect. It will be well worth the money. I think they will be about 40 Canadian (25 US).
Here's one of Rob's engine, built by Tim Harding.

Some of these are not great quality. I scanned them here at work, but you get the idea.

The Drop of Doom. I donated my old boat to be dropped from 110 ft. A raffle takes place and the person that gets the overall length after the drop wins 1/2 the cash and the other 1/2 goes to a local charity. Lots of laughs too. I got a new hull out of the deal. I was planning to make this boat into and pleasure boat with windshield and 4 seats. Now I get a new hull already made for pleasure boating.

The boat was swinging when the crane operator cut it loose, so it dinged off the nose and landed on the transom. Way to funny.

Thamks Clown. You can call Eagle Racing or ask on their website. Also, Outlaw Marine may have something. Their # is 403-347-4565 (Alberta, Canada). Bare weight is about 500 lbs, I think. Lots of the guys in New Zealand run turboed 6's and they work real good. Also try the want ads n www.jetboatracing.com. (http://www.jetboatracing.com.) They have lots of boats.

Mine's got a pretty burly rock grate on it that keeps anything bigger than about 1/2 inch from getting in. If its smaller, then it gets pushed through the pump. Mine may be a little different than the real racers, my boat is fairly stock and I'm just getting my feet wet in FX class-Aluminum Squirt

Thanks Jungle Boy, I'll be sure to look out for the DVD.
My (nearly) annual excursion to Canada is happening this week, I'm heading up to Mont Tremblant on Wednesday and will be there through Sunday.
No boats though, just cars.

Burbanite - I'm assuming you guys are racing this weekend. Good luck and stay safe. It's a pity you have to put up with the french bastards of that place though.

Not racing ourselves, there is a Rolex/Grand Am race there this weekend. Myself and one of the other managers are going up to look at the way the series is run, there could be opportunities there for us.
Copy on the local populace, but some of the girls are hot, oui?....
