last night we removed the horrendous seat mounts from my hull. there was no less than 5 different types of hardware holding the mounts together. oh and an overdose of poorly-applied fiberglass resin too!

I had the same situation when I pulled my interior. It was like two different guys installed the seats. One mount was still in fair shape and the other one was loose from the floor and falling apart.
I copied the seat mounting set up from my Caribbean. I glassed in a piece of 2x4, the length of the seats, ripped at approximately the same angle as the slope of the floor. I mounted them outboard of the stringer about 18"(not sure of this distance of the top of my head). I'll fab some aluminum angles to bolt to the stringers, then bolt the seat through the angles and screw the outboard sides to the strip I glassed in. It works good on my other boat and it leaves alot of room under the seats that wasn't accessible before.
I'll see if I have any pics(or go take some) and post them up later.
