I got the new engine yesterday, after 5 hrs of tuning on the motor builders dyno. When we first started this project, I asked Louie at AMS to build me a engine that would be used for hard play and limited racing that would burn pumpgas. He started with a Dart Little M block, Scat crank, Corrilo rods, Wiesco pistons (10:0-1), Reed hydrualic roller cam, Edelbrock 2925 intake, Holly AED 750 carb, 9 qt Dan Olsen pan. The motor ran great and has very good torque.
RPM - Torque - CHP
2900 - 467.7 - 258.2
3200 - 474.2 - 288.9
3500 - 501.7 - 334.3
3800 - 514.5 - 372.3
4100 - 527.5 - 411.8
4400 - 535.4 - 448.6
4700 - 530.4 - 474.6
4900 - 520.2 - 485.3
5100 - 505.4 - 493.7
5300 - 492.0 - 495.5
5500 - 478.9 - 499.7
We didn't run it past 5500 RPM, so I never seen the 500 mark. I'll be wrenching most of the day to get it in the water tonight. This is going to make a really excellent motor. JB

I was wondering when you were going to post some figures.
Very impressive from a big small block. All this power and lighter in weight too. That's more horse power than many big blocks produce, mine included. Congratulations!
Now, what speed can you get that beer can going with this set up? Keep us posted.

So where is the test site and which boat is it going in?

It went into the 19 ft Eagle Sport. I got 91 MPH at 5350 rpm. I'm planning to change out the B impeller with a A impeller to lower the RPM and take advantage of the torque. This motor is working great so far (4.5 hrs on it). It runs very hard in corner to corner ripping on the Upper Red Deer river. The Whitecourt race is coming up next weekend, so we'll see how is does there.
