Selling the CP also... :confused: :confused: :confused: Quite possibly. I don't really want to sell any boats but....we'll see how things go. I have located a few other boats that I want, unfortunately I have to sell something to buy them. We will probably end up keeping the CP at least 1 more year and go from there. (Unless someone puts $12500.00 on the table). The Syndicate is up for sale now($7000.00 turnkey with new Nitrous and Ignition). We are gonna build a Turbocharged Daycruiser family boat that can actually fit our family in it. Sure hate to get rid of the Gullwing but I can't drive more than 1 boat at a time anyways and it's a pain in the a$$ to have to take turns taking the kids for a ride on the water since everyone can't go out at once in the boat.

Use a good hi build catalyzed prime ...sand with a longboard when you can and when your arms are about to fall off from sanding and you think you are done .....you are half done ...keep sanding .
when you think your done again spray on a light black spatter guide coat and sand some more ..painting is 90% prep...5%skill and 5% luck

Is that Bondo your useing to fill the seam with..I've been told that you must go over it with a 4" strip of glass, all the way around orit will surely crack once it flexs in the water..... wink

As for the daytona. When we where at the CBBB (Classic Boat Beach Bash) in Needles there was a guy in a daytona with the tunnel ram setup and he was running pretty good. I was floating and he was comming down river so I stood up and pointed for him to make a speed pass. Photo Op you know! Well, he got on it and the boat begain to bounce all over the place....that's why the photo is blurry and he's up in the air. Very hot looking daytona too.

HBjet - Hi, how's it going? As far as the boat, we're in the final stages of tweaking things and getting her dialed in to run consistent high 7's/low 8's for the Pro Eliminator (8.00 to 8.99 sec.) class of the IHBA. From what we have seen so far we could, with a little more work, get her to run in the low 7's, but, given she's an open boat, we're not going there as I don't think it's safe ... I'm a firm believer that faster than 8.00 sec. should only be raced in a capsule setup.
Froggy - Yep, your right ... it's a 1978 Picklefork Brendella, though the bottom has been highly modified and does not resemble the original layup.

Fast, but amazingly low freeboard, and the sponsons seemed to walk around too much for my taste. That was a big motor though...

Yep Froggy, you got to put the "Pedal to the Metal" to stop the sponsons from "Going Walkabout" ... and the "Metal" you put the Pedal to ... better have more than 1,000 Little Critters stuffed into it. The Picklefork Tunnel Brenny is by far a better dragboat than a lake boat, though once I got used to her idiosyncraticies, I throughly enjoyed ours on the lake ... much less Hp than she now has though.

Well, mine sucked because I had the trifecta of evils... a back seat, way less than 1,000 little critters, and a Jacuzzi pump. Best day out it did 87. I thought that was pretty fast back then. Now my daycruiser runs nearly what that boat did when it wasn't dialed in. Depending on conditions, that thing was as slow as 83.
Got a lot of looks though. Motor was nasty. Lots of compression, race gas only.
I sold the boat after 1 month and bought the Daytona.

I understand. Do you know who has it now? Amazingly, kind of. I saw the boat late last year outside of Yuma. I guess he runs all the time at Martinez. It has had two motors since mine was in it, and three owners (4 years). The name is different, and it has a stockish 454 with tunnel ram and nitrous now. I can't remember what he said it ran, but it was pretty slow, and the nitrous wasn't hooked up.
I think he had plans for a big motor or something. I would have!
The guy loves the boat. You love to see that. Boat was still really cherry too.

The whole Car Boat thing is way beyond my capabilities.
My car wrenching experience is limited changing oil and tires, the trailer has new tires and I like putting the oil in my gas! :D

This is Ty and myself, testing out the TPC "Billet Series" carbs. Yes, Ty is pissed. That day the carbs kept flooding out the motor and we both had no idea. It turned out (as MikeF discovered) that Holley sent Ty some floats that actually leaked and were filling with fuel, thus dumping tons of excess fuel into the engine. It would caugh and sputter and only start if I was standing on the gas. Anyway, lesson learned, Ty tests all the floats in a glass of water now wink

Thanks Brad but up close, not so good... Spiderweb cracks all over, faded and dull paint. It needs some attention. The hull is super, super light too. I'm gonna have Havasu Barney toughen it up a little so I can slam into wakes without it disintegrating.

Clown... What do you mean run out of water? What speeds were you going when this would happened? My bottom is flat and if there another 5 or 6 MPH
in some modification to it I would be interested

And glassing up the Bottom.
I will try to Post some pictures of the project
I would say it took me about 2-3 months to complete
And the running out of water Part happened about
95 mph is when I seen the tach start to climb
From 6300 to 6800. and sometimes I could Feel the boat slow down.
I wish i had put a pressure gauge on the pump before I did the bottom just to see at what rpm
all of this started to happen
I would sugest putting a pressure gauge on your pump if you don't allready have one .
I run any where from 35 to 45 pounds of pressure in the pump.
I have had it at 60 psi but the boat likes to set down very violelentely at pressures that high.
?????? where to put the pressure gauge?????
On a Berkley put it in the "B"
On an american turbine the "A"
This is the about center of the shaft
