Just in from Daytona, where Travis Pastrana won his heat race and then made a little supercross history by pulling a backflip over the finish-line jump. He didn't actually land it, but it was pretty spectacular.

He crashed.. :crossx: .... But hes ok. I know his wrench, the bikes phucked.. Just the a$$end. I think he was also wearing a helmet cam for Speed's covarage of th erace tonight.

My husabnd told me about this early this afternoon. CRAZY! He is gonna watch it on speed tonight live at 6:30! :p

It wasn't his heat, it was the day qualifiers. :p
He was told by the AMA if he does it again, they will pull his license.
The AMA is a joke. That guy provides more for the sport than 95% of the riders combined. :yuk:

Crashed at his practice track in Menifee on Tuesday. They did some preliminary testing on him at the track which was said that he had some felling in his arms but none in his legs and feet. However there was a test that showed his feet were reacting to whatever they were doing. If that makes sense. He was then halo'd up and sent to the hospital for more testing where they then transfered him to another hopsital to undergo surgery. He was in 6 hours of surgery and they are waiting for the swelling to subside to assess the damages. He is definitely NOT labeled as "paralyzed". There is a good chance he could regain movement. It's just too early to tell.

i found the thread,I watched the race last night and they all gave prayers but never said what happened,superbike guy this morning also mentioned him,that was very cool,,,Miguel Dumel(sp),classy guy

Ok, the sandwich was good.
Now the back flip. Not a very smart thing to do.
I would suppose he got alot flack about it. He could have broke bones.
Reminds me of Danny (Magoo) Chandler.
It was great to watch how crazy he was until he broke his neck.
Now he can't walk.

when is the race at Daytona going to be aired? Just checked my listing on speed for the supercross and there was no listing for Daytona

It was some special Friday night live deal for Daytona Bike week, pretty cool. :cool:
You have to give 199 some credit, doesn't even race Supercross and staying right up there with Reed in the heat race. He's just balls out fast!
