I am looking at a 1976 21' Sleekcraft with a YJ pump. I have a rebuilt WJ with a diverter. Does anyone know if I can replace the YJ with my WJ without any fiberglass changes?
In addition I am going to need a trailer that this boat will work for easy loading.
thanks

No, the intakes are different sizes for one and I believe that they are also different through the transom.

I went through this dilemna less than 3 months ago. I have an Omega daycruiser with a YJ pump & came accross a couple of WJ pumps for cheap cheap. It would have been alright to swap the pumps accross, but then you have to change all the fiberglass to work with it & be sure you get that pump lined up right.
The long and short of the whole deal was that the WJ is a good pump, but you still don't have a berkley when you're done. I talked with Jack McClure and Duane Oblander both & they'd both said the same thing. I finally settled on the American Turbine energizer kit for the YJ pump. The kit is not cheap, but Duane at HiTech Performance seems to have the best deal on them at the moment. I've had my business grow drastically the last month or so, but as soon as the dust settles, I'll be getting my kit from him.

Appreciate the input, I am trying to figure out what to do with my 18' wrecked Witchcraft jet. The 21' Sleekcraft sounded like a good upgrade, until I determined that it has a YJ and I have a fully rebuilt and diverted WJ. I guess maybe I am looking at fixing my Witchcraft unless someone has another thought or angle.

Could you define 'wrecked'? Just how 'wrecked' is it?

Sell the WJ (but keep the diverter) and use the $ to put towards an engergizer kit for the YJ.
Just my $.02

Craig,
To be honest I don't know what model the sleekcraft is. It is 20' 6" long, 1976 model. It has the same look as my current Witchcraft. No windshield, low and sleek. Trying to decide if it would be better to take the parts off of my boat and put it on this boat. The only big issue I have so far is that it may have a YJ instead of my WJ. Also, there isn't a trailer with the boat. Craig would you give me the numbers of the guys in Waterloo that might fix mine?
I have pictures of the Sleekcraft, but I haven't got them posted anywhere so i can link to them.
Thanks
Mark
For Omega21 here is link to Craig's website with a picture of my "wrecked" boat. The estimates have been about $3000 to fix it.

An energizer owner here.I am very happy with the improvement but the drawback is.The nozzle that comes with the energizer sucks(qualitywise).I just addeda diverter and now it kicks ass and the steering never came loose again. The place diverter fro ma berk fits right on as well as parts for a berk split bowl model.
I also had the bowl and impeller reworked at MPD this was the big improvement all around and it made the pump very efficient. You can also use berk type parts for the rebuilds impeller, bearings, wear rings etc.
I know longer own the boat but others here can tell you how it performed.
