can anyone tell me why im getting back fire out of one side of motor and why i got 145 pounds of compression on all cylinders except one i have 85 pounds

Sounds like you need to work on that engine, head gasket leak etc. wink Have you pulled the head yet?

im thinking a valve if it was a head gasket wouldn't i have water some where in motor because i dont have any no where

put that piston at tdcc and run an air line to it then listen to intake, exhaust, adjacent cylinders, and crankcase for a hiss. my .002

maybe you busted some rings on that piston?
there are lots of reason the only way to find out is to dig in to it.
check the valve timing and if its all straight then you have other problems. frown

As Floored said, perform a leak-down test first then proceed from there.

thanks for all the help took heads to hutchisons machine today and had a valve seat totally gone and the guild was two times the size it should bee thanks
