I would like the know what the redline is on stock Small Blocks and stock Big Block (Ford & Chevy). Just curious

I'M PRETTY SURE THAT ON A BIG BLOCK CHEVY IT'S AROUND 4,600 TO 4,800 RPM'S, IF IT'S BONE STOCK.

I always thought the "Red"line was the color of your face right after the motor has blown up, because you finally found which RPM's it does it at.

5500 on older smb chevys and 6000 on newer generation sbc,my current sbc made peak hp at 6500 rpms but pulled all the way to 7200rpms on the dyno.

redline can be where your engine makes peak power. As for the big ford i have reved mine to 5600 rpm.it was a stock short block with another cam.I wouldnt go past that rpm unless other mods are made.
