I don't really know what I am doing here. I just know it took me a long time to save this money and want to get the best bang for the buck and don't want to get f*cked.

Dave is a stand up guy i have not used him personaly.Except for nitrous refills. :D
First time i met him i was at mpd getting my pump rebuilt he came by to see things introduced himself to me even though i rebuild my own motors he still gave me advice on what i can do to make things better(NOS,carb, and fuel system)Knowing that i will do myself. His shop is very clean and well organized.

Well, one thing to remember is don't rush it. If you do , just take a few grand and burn it in the street because it will feel like that if you do rush it. I understand you want to get on the water, so do I. But you want this motor rebuild to last not one year, but 5+ years. So, if you miss another month of summer before your stuff it done, just think of all the headaches your going to be avoiding later.
I can't say when your motor will be done. he has the racing season going on and a lot of projects, but I don't think you plane on taking your motor to the dyno, and thats good because the dyno dates are a month out right now. Best bet is to give him a call and first see what plan of attack you and him want to take, and then talk about completion time. Again, don't rush it!
what did our parents tell us, good things come to those who wait.....

Get the casting numbers off of your cylinder heads and block. On www.mortec.com (http://www.mortec.com) you can match up those numbers. There is a BBC cylinder head casting page and a BBC block casting numbers page. You want to know if you have Rect. port heads, or the small peanut port oval heads. Also, you want to find out what Gen block you have and whether or not it's 2 bolt main or a 4 bolt main. Even if you wheren't going to do anything to the motor, these things are just good to know.
