C pump! Easy way? Send it out to a reputable guy! gonna have to agree here, if you dont know exactly what you are doing then send it to a reputable pump shop, rebuilding a pump is not as easy as some people think,
its like a motor, seems fairly easy, but if youve ever seen a pro do it you realize all the little things that you never even thought of which give you way better performance and longevity
i can recommend a pump builder, but he is here in so cal. so you would either have to ship it, or take one hell of a road trip

How about this pump?
I've been told, Bay Jet.
Any other info about it would be helpful. :)

I know the motor is supposed to be bolted to the transom, so where else could the pump go...? :)

tuff crowd  Aint that the truth! :) I don't have much luck asking any questions about my jet boat in here. You guys make these car motors sound easy to install but I must admit, I'm lost with this project... Almost to the point of fixing that transom and slapping an OB on this boat...
How is your boat coming along BADAXE? I gotta say, I really like the colors and layout.

man look at that reverse bucket on that thing (actually the way you have it sitting, it would be the forward thrust). Barn try to find a berk for that thing or just fix it up and slap it together if it is not going to be anything special.

OK, Berk JA... what does that tell me?
Is there somewhere I can read about pumps, what better parts might fit this one?
It's such a clean tunnel boat, beautiful paint, very light, 375lbs, sitting on a sweet trailer. I sure hate the idea of slapping her together. I'd like to run it since I've never driven a hot tub car boat before.
I'm hoping I have a motor partner cause I don't know shit about pumps and car motors.
I've been told the rail kit fits a 454.
So you guys think scrap this pump or can it be helped?
Hack Job told me I could trade it in on a newer Berk, any idea what the gains would be?

if it is an older berk you can trade it for about 2 grand I believe (don't hold me to this number) for a newer berk. This is kind of a hard decision, if it was me and it is a pos pump like an "a" or a bayjet I would probably trade it, or try to find a newer pump for sale. It does not look like a "c" or a "g" pump but these are what you want to look for. If by for some odd reason it is one of these berk pumps listed above I would have it gone through install it in the boat.
Just a little side note of advise barney and a real quick lesson on pumps. The C and G are the same pumps with different bowls. The intake (or suction piece) is the same. A g bowl is split so you would be able to add a wedge to it and you will see it split in half with bolts running through it. A C is not split. You should read up on some of the pump threads that HBjet started in theis jet fourm to get some ideas and learn a little if you really want to put this together RIGHT.

boy, i remember those winners! it's a bayjet with an early berk nozzle and a bayjet tiller arm. those were around briefly in the early 70's.
