I made a drawing today to fab a scoop out of .090 6061 alum. I have scribed marks in the bottom plate for now and I will do the rest tomorrow and then shear all the pieces off. I will then TIG weld it all together. I have to find some material for the flange though. Will post pics when in process and done with it.

www.tjsperformance.com (http://www.tjsperformance.com) Will that 6061 bend? I don't remember what grade I bought, but it was the higher strength aluminum and it broke when bending it cold. I don't know. Good luck. I want to see some Pix of it.

Another approach would be to take some T-0 (dead soft) and hammer (mallet) it around a wood form of your own design. Then heat treat it when done. Airplane style.....

No .090 wall 6061 will not bend. I am going to TIG weld all the pieces together. I will post pics when I am done. Later.

Don't know what you have but T4 will bend ok, we do it every day.
Annealing works too.
TJS, does it need to be .090"?
