I want to put a loader on and I went to take my intake grate screws out just to see if they are frozen and sure enough they are frozen up. Does anybody have any tricks to get these things out without breaking them? I thought about using an impact wrench with a screwdriver attachment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Those can be a pain in the ass. Apply alot of force through the axis of the screw and use a screw driver with a square shank or one that has a hex so you can use a wrench to apply slow, steady torque. Also be sure and use the correct size phillips tip. Too often I've seen people use a #2 and it usually strips the head.

Try a 1/4 drive rachet with a socket that will hold a screw driver bit.

I always used a little heat from a propane torch.
Heat the aluminum it will expand a a higher rate than the Stainless pan heads - Allowing you to remove the screws easier.
Good Luck

all the above with a propane torch. a little heat free's it up. use some anti-seize when you put it back together.

Miller, what size bolts are you using, and are they through bolted in the intake?

Miller, the heat is good. I've also had luck with a hammer type impact, as long as whatever bit your using fits the screw head well. Once you screw up the screw head though you're screwed...drill and easy out time then.

Go to the parts store and buy a spray can of penetrant called PB Blaster let it soak overnight
strike each screw head sharply with a hammer and then try to remove, heat lightly from a propane torch if necessary.
PB Blaster is the best penetrating oil I have ever seen !

just drill out the screws and through bolt it instead, its better and safer anyways

I tried using one of the hammer type impact drivers but they would not turn.
I ended up using a 3/8" drive impact gun. I put it on forward for about 3 seconds and then reversed it. They came out kind of slow at first but they did come out. And I didn't strip anything.

GLAD THEY CAME OUT WELL. IF ANYONE CAN'T FIND THAT PENETRATING OIL, LOOK AT AUTO ZONE FOR STUFF IN A YELLOW AND BROWN CAN CALLED RUST BUSTER, IT MELTS THE OXIDATION AWAY AS YOU WATCH IT!...JUST MY $.02...BILL.
