I thought it was a really sharp looking boat. It has a 460 Ford in it. The guy says it does like 80.... eek! I said maybe over Niagera Falls.. wink

Had the same hull, only it was an outboard.

I would guestimate that 80mph in a sleekcraft would require about 750hp.
The speedos in these boats are quite inaccurate, seems like it is due to the hull design. I have 2 speedometers in my boat, one reads ~70, the other reads about 65, while the GPS reads 60 - go figure.
The reason i say this, is i have a 78 sleekcraft, 19'. I have done just about every pump mod available (shoe, rideplate, impeller, cav. reducer, aggressor bowl, wedge, snoot, place diverter), and i can GPS @ 60mph, turning an aggresor B to 5000rpm.
As far as a setback, i cannot set my pump back any farther than it was done from the factory. As it is now, if you remove the transom plate, the handhole would be half in the boat, half out. Makes it very difficult to get to if needed. (12-JC pump) Has the same engine cover as the one in the picture, which i think looks really cool on the boat.
