Rebuilt a 73' Wreight jet with a fresh 455 Olds last year. I hear they have oiling problems and would like to put a larger oil pan on it. What would you guys suggest?

Get one thats at least 8qt or more, and baffles. I bought mine new from cpperformance.com last year. Its a great pan, side drain, baffles etc. $400. You might be able to find a used one around.

MY LONG LOST BROTHER!!!!!!! Sounds like me VooDoo, last year I was building up my '73 Wrieght 18' 455 olds powered jet boat with used parts from this forum. Like the other guys said look around, parts are out there. From all the helpful guys on this site I scored: water plate, Mildon 7qt. pan, Rewarder headers, aluminum scoop, valve covers, breathers, and an intake manifold all used (exept the manifold it was new and the guy traded me my nasty looking Torker straight acrossed for the brand new Performer!) I saved so much money!! You know what they say, "One mans trash is another mans treasure!" Oh man, I can hear the Oldsmobile jokes now.....Let 'em rip boys!! :D :D

Thanks guys, used this boat all last summer and loved it! It's amazing how well it rides. We ported the heads and put a triple valve grind on it as well as adding a cam. It runs real nice but not as fast as I thought it would. I'm, turning 4600rpm at about 54 mph. The bottom needs work and I don't have any type of trim like a jetovator or place diverter so the boat is riding low in the water. It looks real sweet. Did it up in bright pearl yellow with dark blue and purple stripes. Interior is white with bright yellow piping, get lots of compliments on it. Named it "Junkyard Dog". Yes, mines an 18' also.

We carry these new ski-sport pans from Dooley. 10 quart and work well on ski boat aps. Less money than the pro pans too at $349. Just another option for you. Let us know if we can help.

I hate to say it, but I think I'd make a pan before I'd pay $350 for one. eek!
I know, I'm cheap.
