loader grate

does anyone know how much rpm you gain with a loader grate?
does it make a difference on the impeller you are running?
any info would be great!!! thanks.

Don't think you'll gain any RPM just stuff the pump with more water.

I was spinnin 5500rpms with a standard angle iron loader grate. I switched to an MPD open center loader, and I dropped to 5300 rpms but picked up 3 mph!! and a whole lotta midrange!

i am spining 4400 rpm with a AA impeller and a 455 olds
do you think a loader will effect rpm more because of the AA impeller?

i've tried at least 5 different loader grates and have seen speed variations of 8mph and 300rpm. Every one is different in someway unless you have it custom made for your boat.
