This is what came out of the old(just rebuilt) motor. 1 rod nut came off and it died. I am thinking that the bolt backed out a little when I was using plastiguage, and when I torqued them down it wasnt all the way seated in the rod. the new motor will be done on tuesday.

The reason for the torque specs is to insure your bolts are seated , plus bolt stretch. If the nut came off you must have accidently missed your torque on that nut. The bolt may have been turned slightly and dug in before it bottomed out and then loosened up after it was running. You gotta double check everything and then check it again when you put your motors together. Been there done that. Good luck on this one 396... Hal

You need to find a new hobby, preferably one that is just a little cheaper for you. :D :D :D
In other news, I got a starter for the yellow boat. May just try out Saguaro next weekend and see if she still floats. :D
