This is for all the guys that run a 455cid Olds motor. In the February-2003 issue of Popular Hot Rodding Magazine, i wrote an article detailing the oil system, valvetrain and fuel system upgrades on my 455. There are photos and dyno numbers so you can see what all is in involved in the process.

Normally I would assume it's in a jet boat since I found the post here. But I see you cross posted it. What car is it in?

The article covers oiling system upgrades that apply to any application of this particular motor. A 455, no matter if its in a car, truck or boat, doesn't fair too well when run at high rpms for extended periods of time.

www.mondellotwister.com (http://www.mondellotwister.com) is an excellent source for tips on coaxing the max HP out of the 455.
It includes photos of a project motor from head mods. to crank oiling mods and everything inbetween. This guy was buildin rockets back when I was crappin yellow. Peace man

No on the batten heads but I want a set of the mondello's. Complete rebuild on the motor this year has put that off for awhile tho

Moneydello did my 455 and I run it all weekend long at 5000 rpm. He knows how to cure oil problems.Pricey but it wont break. His heads are the shit! Aluminum baby.

I doubt the mag is in print yet, but can you post that article here? I am doing a major upgrade over here after the first of the year. I am taking in all information I can get,
