Looking to buy a new 21- 23 ft open bow I am looking at several different manufacturers. Omega is offering me a good price along with a good warranty. But I dont know much about the company. I am interested in information about the company as far as their history in customer service and product quality. thanks vicjet

Brent,
Yes I did and it's running like a dream. It'll definetly be at the next Spectra Regatta.
Vic, I don't mean to be harsh on Omegas, but it just took a lot of work on mine to make it run respectible. Mine was a 77 20'6" open bow. I had to glass in full stringers, to stiffen up a very weak hull. The jet was installed 1/4" off center (which made the nozzle point about 2" south). The glass work on the "Goal post" stringers looked like a 3 yr old did the work. The bottom had almost a 1/4 of an inch of hook on one side and about the same amount of rocker on the other. After making all these changes, it runs really hard now. But my point is that even after all of that, it still doesn hold a candle to my spectra in ride, speed, etc. My spectra is a ton heavier and has hook but smokes my Omega, off the line, top speed, in any condition.
I could be wrong and maybe I just got a Lemon, or an Omega that some hack shop rigged themselves, but I doubt it.

Sure,
It's not much different than this one that I was running in June. Only this time I painted the block red to match the hull. I'll snap a few of it and post them later

I will be running a Offy sigle plane as soon as I can get it back from getting polished. Then it will look similar to this pic with the Victor Jr.

Here's a shot of Freds old boat at our favorite spot.

Stock stroke, .30 over
11 to 1 JE pistons
Cryo'd Eagle rods
Ported D0VE heads
Crower Cam, lifters, springs,
push rods, guide plates and SS rockers
Wieand Stealth (for now, soon 2b Offy)
Demon 750 DP mec advance
Everything was balanced by Dougans
MSD ign, wires, dist, etc
Lightning headers
Pump was detailed by MPD. Flowed JC bowl with a tweaked SS A/B.
I can spin the A/B to 5400 which should put me in the 525 HP range.
I'm loving this boat. Seriously thinking of flipping the hull and truing it up this winter. Also going to have MPD convert my bowl to a JG and try a droop.

Converting your bowl to a "G" would be a great idea, then you can run a droop snoot. From my experience the Spectra 20 likes the droop snoot.
I would say you will pick up a 1-3 MPH with the droop.
If you are going to the bottom, have your intake machined for a ride plate & shoe.
I still want to get a ride one of these days.
