What holds the battery hold down in place? safely? well if you look at the pic of just the plates you will see two bolt holes those are so you can mount it to a rail kit or if you have a false floor in your boat you could lag it down there. ( iam going to making a bracket to mount mine to the stringers.

It looks good Tyson. I have that very same battery and I just bought the alum to make my box.
I'm kind torn between putting that nice radius in the corners like you did or squaring it off so I could put a standard battery in it someday.

and i like the shinny too but i dont like the work to keep it shinny. wink
the boat is coming along i will be gettting busy in couple of weeks and then i will put up some pics of the riging and the pump work and of course the gel.
revendave, its good to hear that you are getting your motor back together. i hope it works out well for you.
let me know how it comes out.

I live about a mile from you.
I plan on being on the lake that week end. A friend of mine has some property about a 1/2 mile south of Cranes. I,ll be hanging out there. I launch from his beach. Race? I don't think I could hang with that bad boy of yours. Nice boat by the way. Your right about the water. Its hard to find smooth water on week-ends. :) Next time I see you out I'll stop and introduce my self.
