I bought a boat hull about a month ago from guy that didn't know what make it was. Can someone direct me in the right direction to find out what it is. He didn't have a title, and there are no serial #s, so I don't know what to do.

No it's not stolen I know the guy, and he's owned for many years. He bought a new hull and sold me his old one. He's says that he thinks it is a "predator??", but I've never heard of it.

Well I tried to add a pic, but I can't figure out how. It has a dual tunnel bottom, I don't know if that helps.

Possible Sleekcraft. We need pics. I`ve seen hulls where the owner would fill serial #`s for cosmetic reasons. Please don`t do that.

Ok, well I can't figure out how to send a pic. From what all ya'll have told me it has to be a predator, because the bottom does look like a gullwing. Can this type of hull handle a lot of HP. Thanks for all the help!!

Definitely a "gullwing" style from the looks of it. Deck looks different from any of the other gullwings I know of.

Thanks for sending the pic for me. The deck is the problem, I'm with you, gullwing bottom, but the deck I don't know.

Yes, that looks like a Predator. Be very careful with that boat. They were ill handling boats with much HP added. Definately not my choice for a race boat. They were built by Dan Rosson and Jimmy Johnston in the early days of Jet Boat Engineering. They copied everything on the market back then.

Duane knows his shiznit.
I asked advice on a jimmy johnston splash and he told me stay clear. I went and checked the boat out anyways and it was an ILL handling POS to say the least. Wouldn't get up outta da water with a big block chevy.
Know that aint what you wanna hear but if your lookin to build a pleasure boat I'm sure it'll be just fine.

Thanks for the advice. If that hull isn't worth a crap what would you recommend, I'm looking to be in the 800HP range. This is my first jet, I've only had v-drives before.

With that kind of HP, I would suggest a good tunnel of some kind. Everey once in a while one comes up for sale at a reasonable price.

I do would not go as far to say a hull is crap I would much rather have that hull than a Taylor SJ some times you do not all ways have the best hulls to pick from in your price range.Sure a tunnel is the answer to every thing I want one too but you cant pick one of thoes up for next to nothing like some of these older Vs or gullwings. Some Jet experts say to stay away from all gullwings that they are dangerous and some say they make an excelent lake boat.
Duane what makes the Preator worse than a Condor TX 19 or a CP Gullwing or a Youngblood TX 19 and so on?Is it the way they are made or is it diffrent changs in thge bottom or what? What about the 18 foot CP with the strighter sides they say thoes handel bad in turns (heard Preator is known for this too).I am not douting you just want to know the scoop.
Thanks Jake :D
