WHAT WEIGHT OF OIL DO YOU GUYS RUN IN YOUR JET BOAT AND WHY? SYNTHETIC? OR BLEND? 10-30 OR STRAIGHT 30?

I had been running Torco 20W50. The last time I bought oil, no one had it. I bought Valvoline VR1 Racing, 20W50. It actually seemed to hold up a little better than the Torco.
I also run Pro Blend additive.

Kendall straight 50....Looks pretty when it's diluted with Alky...Gas motors usually get 20-50 Valvoline racing. And dont forget the filter....Wix or napa gold ..the best made..Besides my system 1 which I love because it just gets washed and re-used

For a petroleum-based product, I'd run the Kendall.
For a synthetic lubricant I run Amsoil exclusively because it is an ester-based synthetic.

There is a lot of good brands out there but I recommend at least using 20/50 wt. The reason is that with most average jet boaters the engine won't be warmed up properly before getting into the throttle. In a jet boat it takes 5-10 minutes to get the oil up to temperature at no wake speeds, longer with a cooler. I haven't heard of any problems runnig hard with cold oil, I think that it just makes sense to be cautious. I use Valoline 20/50 racing oil. We use Mobile 1 synthetic in the sprint car engine as recommended by Shaver racing engines for running alcolhol. Fram HP series filters flow at a higher rate of volume and pressure so we sell those. . Jim

now that i have your attention, please explain to me why some of you run straight grades -vs- multi weights -vs- synthetics because many of you have different weights, is one better then another? maybe the answer is "it probably doesn't matter" or does it???
