Wanting to put place diverter on my jacuzzi 12wj. Running stock 454 on my 18'Glencoe. Wondering what to expect. Have heard from others (namely Beaced 1) that one should not bolt up the place without doing some modifications to the existing nozzle. Wondering what others have experienced on their 12wj with bolt-up without mods and those who may have done some mods. Looking to go with manual floor mounted controller. Any pics of floor mounted controllers or 12wj diverters installed would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Bolted right on, did nothing else. Huge difference. Can't complain.

You are definitley going to want to cut off that internal nozzle off and open up your bowl. From what I've heard the internal nozzle is very restrictive and will hinder performance when you add a PD. I lucked out on my WJ, when I took my steering housing off, I noticed my internal nozzle was part of the steering housing itself, not part of the bowl. I don't know if my pump came like this or if someone worked on it. But, my bowl was already opened up and I just bolted it on. It did wonders for the boat's performance.

Hooter sled - Did your bowl have the nozzle on it or was it also part of the steering assembly?

I didn't remove any nozzle when I installed it. I would be interested in hearing more about that. I beleive the nozzle just threads out of the bowl on mine if thats the part I am thinking of.

Thanks to everyone that has posted so far, but I know there have to be more jacuzzi guys out there with experiences and opinions dealing with the built in nozzle on the bowl and the installation of a place diverter. Some more pics too - thanks!!

I put a used diverter on my wore out WJ last year. I didn't do anything but bolt it on and go. At the end of the season the bearings gave up, so it's back apart. I took these pics today of the original and Place nozzles.

They both look the same to me. So, I don't think it's going to make much difference, unless you want to have a guru go through and match your whole pump piece by piece. There's 2 cents for ya.

Hooter sled - Did your bowl have the nozzle on it or was it also part of the steering assembly? A couple of bolts took off the stock nozzle, and I bolted the Place nozzle right on, rigged up the hydraulic pump and it was good to go. There is a pic of the rear of my boat in my photo album. Check it out. It's the yellow boat.

Hooter-Sled - Nice looking boat. Question - What difference did you notice in performance after bolting on the nozzle - any negative effects? Thanks for the info.
