1. always whine when someone builds a motor that makes more power than yours with less compression, fewer carburetors and less displacement.
2. cry fowl when a motor is tuned on the dyno and not on the lake "where it matters most"
3. bitch and moan until someone gives up gps numbers and then say that you're not buying it once you find out how fast the boat really runs.
4. never believe a dyno figure from a west coast dyno.
5. If the motor has iron heads, then its not allowed to make over 700hp on pump gas.
6. If the owner of the boat is under 30yrs of age, then they can't possibly know what they are talking about because they dont have enough jet boat experience.
7. Don't ever give props to your engine or pump builder on this board because that means you're getting a discount and we all know how horrible it is to get a discount.
8. Unless you assemble your engine and pump on the floor of your garage with duct tape and chicken wire, then you spent too much money on it now matter how fast the boat goes.
9. Dont chrome or powdercoat anything because that means you're just showing off and your boat can't possibly be fast. Bling Bling will not be tolerated on this board.
10. And the most important rule of all; When all else fails, and you make yourself look like an uneducated whiner, tell the other guy he's gay and change the subject real quick.
did i miss anything here? feel free to add any new rule that you see fit.

Since you guys are the hp kings, take it to the drags and PROVE IT, plain and simple, sorry I dont jump on the what ever hbjet says bandwagon, and I used to live in socal, so you can stick the midwest thing you know where, in fact I lived there longer than you have been on this planet.

So, Lost Lake, or a plain old river race won't count huh? It has to be with the lights, announcer, the whole shabang. So, If I run a boat that races at the drags on the river and get video, will that count? Or will it only count if I run that same boat at the drags?
Blown, you have a problem believing... fine! Next time your out at Socal or near the river. Let me know, I'll give you a ride. But for me to have to take it to the races and get video to prove HP numbers it stupid. I'm not saying I won't run NJBA, because I will. But who's to say that I didn't alter the video, or the time slip? Jeez! The only thing I can't fake is the dyno numbers, so you and everyone else is going to have to deal with it. If anyone disbelieves, well, meet me on the water and lets see what happens from there!

nice pic Dossangers!
blown- like i said before, you took an informative post (my original one saying look what i made with a crate motor) and turned it into a pissing contest. Instead of seeing the worth of sharing good information, you would rather tell us west coast guys how smart you are and that no we can't do that...blah blah 1/4 mile this..Step up and race me son..I've got nothing to hide. Never said anything about my boat being the fastest or my motor being the best. You asked for gps numbers and you got them. Not good enough now for some reason? If you want to be vocal and basically call me a liar then step up and run with me. I'm not going drag racing just because you say I have to. Im calling you out. You've basically said i'm full of shit so back up your accusations and bring your boat out to the river. If you want to punk out then we've got nothing more to talk about and we're beating a dead horse here.

You gotta love that foot dyno. That's what it's all about. Build it how you want it built and then run it how you want to run it! Whatever it takes to make that happen is up to you.
And remember that boating is all about having a good time!

Blown 472: Rule 14. Dont take it to the drags cuz then you would have to back peddle on how well it did not run. Blown 472 to HBjet: And your measured numbers were what agian??
Maybe I can answer?
* Blown 472:
78 mph @ 5200, Berkeley(?) "B" impeller. Supercharged as in blown, copy?
*** HBjet:
92 mph, @ 5600, Legend "B" impeller. N/A as in NOT blown, copy?
Looks like HBjet is 14 mph faster than Blown 472. I'm wondering who's back peddling now? Or is it rule number 1000?:
1000) Discredit lake reported GPS (or honesty) of anyone who runs faster, 'cause who knows, maybe you sound cool?
That doesn't work? Say, "blah, blah, blah." Hoping to discredit numbers by inferred boredom with your rival's post.
All else fails, challenge to prove GPS numbers with the vaunted 1/4 mile ticket. That should do it. Even if you have no tickets of your own of course. That challenge alone lends credit to your "racer" status...who knows? Give it a shot.

jer I need to get some of what you guys have, keep my head up in the clouds all the time and keep dancing around the questions. Jer never said my boat was fast, was not built to be fast was built to sort out a blown combo for a boat, had a line on a hondo hydro that did not pan out which was set up for a ford to which my blown motor would be going into, there for I did not cut my engine cover in my jet to accept the blown motor. As soon as I get it straightend out I will probably pull it and put a stock motor in the boat as it is a heavy pig and will NEVER be fast.
And when are you bringing your boat to the drags?? or posting your measured numbers?? oh I digress, that would cut into your time on your calculator. :D :p
You know Jer, you remind me of my buddy, he has a 78 trans am, 462 poncho, 6 speed, and 3.90 rear gear, well he tells me he is going to kick my cars ass, as I only have a three speed, 2.76 rear gear and my car is heavier than his. I detuned my car and still smoked his ass and now you know what he says?? "The car was not built to drag race" and he renigged on the 100 bet we had too.

92 mph, @ 5600, Legend "B" impeller. N/A as in NOT blown, copy?
I am turning a SS A+ impeller @ 5600 w/650+- HP
@ mid 90's
If there were more HP it seems the " B " impeller RPM would be much higher than that ????

No cheap shot intended wink just stirrin' the pot
I am going to DYNO my motor in the next few weeks @ Randy's Performance in CC,Tx.
I will gladly post all engine specs and #'s
I will also fax engine info. over to one of the West Coasters and get a Professional Estimate on what HP I should expect from the combo
Hopefully the Shortblock will hold together as it honestly was built in a garage on a dirty floor wink

If you think you have trouble getting insurance for you boat today, just wait until you have 700hp. Personally I'll take the lower numbers anyday. We should take a tip from the whacker guys they sandbag their numbers all of the time, putting a 225hp cowl on a 400hp nitrous motor, lol.

06-25-2003, 10:00 AM
liberator--dont bother posting because the dyno numbers because they are always fake. you have to take your motor directly from the engine stand, put it in the boat and then go race the 1/4 mile for anyone on this board to believe you. Besides, the experts here can predict exactly how much power your engine is making based purely on a 1/4 mile et/mph. lol

Your right. Your engine would turn a Legend B over 6000 rpm. I don't know the shape of HBjet's engine power curve, or even if 5600 was topped out, I just recorded what he reported.
Oh ya, my "cheap shot" statement above was me saying to Blown that my post comparing his jet to HB's was a cheap shot on my part. Sorry for the confusion. This thread movin' to fast for me :)
