I purchased a "new to me" boat on October 7th. Went for two very cold rides and then winterized it. Tomorrow it goes into storage for a seven month nap. I've already been searching the web to find little improvements here and there. How can I wait seven months to play with my new toy?

I hear what you are saying  I picked up my Sanger the day after Labor day without a motor. I built a motor and dropped it in just so I could test drive it just once :( I remember reading on here somewhere we were both out on the water the same day out here in the midwest. Last Sat.Oct.12th. I don't know about you but I froze my ASS off! eek! Convinced me real quick that boating season was LONG OVER in this part of the country :( But at least I DID get to test drive it one time wink Those V-drives are a whole different boat than a jet is! I got a pretty good education on the test drive as far as realizing what I am going to have to change to make it run the way I want it to wink

Yea, I was on the water on October 12th. Coats, gloves, and blankets were used, but I was out there. While out there I was wondering how hard it would be to install some heater ducts and pull some heat off the engine. I've driven my convertible in cold weather with the top down and the heater on full blast. It shouldn't be to much different. However, launching and loading the boat still might get a little chilly. Anything to extend the season sounds good to me.
For now, I will be patiently waiting for next May to arrive. wink

Now I just have to quiet her down a little for the cops. Then play time can begin. I feel like a little kid. :D

Yes, We had it out over Memorial Day weekend. However the rear bench and engine hatch were not completed yet, so we ran it without. She ran 72 mph @ 5,200 rpm on the gauges. Soon I will use the GPS to get a better reading. The neighbors up north complained over Memorial Day about the noise, and it is currently illegal, so more will need to be done. But she is getting there, slow but sure.
Duane at HTP did the engine build this April. :)
