I don't know if anyone has seen this but i thought it was pretty cool.
Engine Masters Challenge 2003
Do you have what it takes to build the hottest big-block on the planet? Then don't miss this opportunity to run your best combination at the ultimate engine builder's shootout. The 2003 Engine Masters Challenge will be run entirely on certified SuperFlow dyno's, eliminating the normal racing variables of chassis set-up, track conditions and driver ability. We're dyno racing and anyone can enter. Just be selected as one of the 50 competitors, then build your hottest big-block, race it on our certified SuperFlow dyno, and you could walk away with a Grand Prize worth up to $100,000 in cash! The runner-up will receive up to $36,000, and the third place competitor will pocket up to $18,000. With so much on the line, the 2003 Engine Masters Challenge promises to be one of the most closely watched motor sports competitions of the year. So don't wait, download a free copy of the 2003 Engine Masters Challenge Rules Guide and Engine Builder Application. Who knows, you could become the next World Champion Engine Builder!

OK, these are 2002 results, it doesn't look like they have done any of this years dyno tests. And this years are Big blocks. :) Could be fun to watch after all the stuff on dynos here. They are using three dyno facilities and one is westech, one is in Michigan, and one is in Memphis.

I have confidence that the dyno will be productive.

Actually, not only have the teams already been selected (I believe this is discussed in the current PHR magazine), but the engines have been built and by this time most if not all have been dyno tested. Here is a link to a 460 related website were "Team 385" hangs out, Jon Kaase (another participant) pops in from time to time as well. They have been leaking info here and there as the compitition has progressed. Should be very informative once we can see all the results and combinations, especially since all of the big block brands are represented.

I think its a great concept. In the small block build up last year, I was impressed how the little guys and small shop owners beat the big engine component guys like Crower and others. I can's wait till the finals on the big block. Kind of wish DNE had a entry to see how he would do. Most of the small block guys averaged 100 pulls on their motors before the contests. :D
