I have seen some pic's of boats that have two jets and only one engine....why is this?? And what kind of drive set up do they have to make it work?? Thanks, Travis.

There are "Y" shaped intakes, or 2 angled ones ( I have seen that someplace too) and a split-gearbox to drive 2 pumps from 1 engine. I think it would be rather dissapointing without at least 800-1000 HP to drive it. Otherwise, impellers get too small, acceleration suffers, and not enough muscle to twist it for top-end. Don't forget the parasitic loss of HP from the transfer case/transmission/split gearbox/whatever you call it before it gets to the pump.

Now, I know of an Taylor SS like mine that carries 2 460 Fords in it on 2 pumps. I hope to see it in SE Oklahoma in mid June.

That is exactly what I was thinking...what a waste of good power!! Thanks for the reply.

I remember that thread, pretty cool work on the dual-jet. I am definitely curious to see how it does racing. With enough HT the acceleration should be phenomenal. I wonder about hi-speed feeding tho.
