One more question I have is that the oil pressure gauge seemed to bounce all over the place whenever I stepped on the gas, or let off of it. I thought that it was the same pressure no matter what, unless you had a major problem. Oil level is good too on this. Thanks again1

Is it a mech. or elect. gauge?

It's an electrical gauge. One of those cheapo teleflex marine gauges you can get pretty much anywhere.

Has anyone had any input on this? I really appreciate the help. Is there a way to check the pressure without the dash gauge? Thanks again!

Check your wiring. I had the same thing with mine. I could grab wires and the water temp and oil pressure would jump or give no reading at all. Thats a scary thing when you're running at 4000 rpm and the oil pressure reads 0.

Buy a mechanical gauge and plumb it directly into the block. Have a buddy watch it and compare the 2 gauges.

I started running 50wt oil. 20-50 is just to thin to turn 4500 to 5000 all day long. Mechanical guage is the only way to go. My dads boat did the same thing. I told him the 15-40 was to thin, he changed oil to 50wt and the mechanical gauge quit bouncing.
